MultilingualPress Release 4.2.0
The newest version has been released: MultilingualPress 4.2.0 is now available! The main feature of this release is the ability to manage WordPress comments. Let’s take a closer look at this new feature.
Support for comments
As is well-known, MultilingualPress lets you link different post types to manage the translation of their contents quickly and efficiently. This same option is now available for comments. Comments that refer to post types (e.g., posts and pages), already related to each other through MultilingualPress, can also be linked so that their respective contents can easily be managed across different language sites.
The type of relationship that can be established between the various comments is similar to what can already be done with other post types: translation meta boxes are made available to the user to link a given comment to another related to a site in another language. As usual, these meta boxes allow you to link the comment to an existing one or create a new one as a copy of the original. Further options are available through fields that allow you to update the values that characterize the comment (author, status, etc.).
As usual, the new feature can be activated directly from the MultilingualPress settings panel (Global Settings for MultilingualPress): as soon as it is activated, comments can be linked.
Product comments or reviews can also be managed by activating the module for WooCommerce support. In this case, you just need to first link the products of two sites through MultilingualPress, and the reviews can be managed through specific translation meta boxes as explained above.
