Feature to Copy Media Library Content to Remote Sites
This new feature provides the ability to copy media library content between connected sites effortlessly.
With this groundbreaking feature, all types of files housed in the media library of one subsite can now be bulk or individually copied to another connected site(s) via MultilingualPress. Unlike the traditional method of requiring a complete duplication of a subsite, this enhancement allows for seamless file copying at a later stage.
This means you have the flexibility to selectively transfer media files without the need for a full subsite duplication. For further insights, check out our documentation.
PHP Version Update Notice for the Next Release
As part of our commitment to providing a secure and optimized experience, we want to inform you about an essential update regarding PHP compatibility in the upcoming MultilingualPress version 4.7.0.
A notice will be displayed in the WordPress backend upon activating MultilingualPress version 4.6.0.
Starting from the next release, version 4.7.0, we will require PHP compatibility with version 7.4 and support for PHP 7.2 will be discontinued. This means that any versions from MultilingualPress 4.7.0 onward utilizing a PHP version lower than 7.4 will no longer be supported.
We highly recommend upgrading your PHP version to 7.4 or higher to ensure a seamless transition and maintain compatibility. For detailed information about this transition, please refer to our PHP-7.4 Update documentation.
Trasher Option “Send all the translations to trash when this post is trashed.” doesn’t work
A bug related to the Trasher module has been solved in this release, addressing a specific scenario where connected sites experienced issues with posts deletion.
Previously, when activating the Trasher module in the 4.5.0 settings panel for two interconnected sites, and a post was related between the two subsites, an anomaly occurred. Specifically, activating the Trasher module did not correctly execute the post-deletion process.
In cases where the checkbox “Send all the translations to trash when this post is trashed” was selected in the primary subsite’s post and saved, the expected behavior of automatically trashing the related post in the secondary subsite was not occurring as anticipated.
We’re pleased to confirm that this bug has been thoroughly addressed, and the Trasher module now functions seamlessly. Activating the Trasher module ensures that all connected posts can be deleted with a single command, streamlining your site management experience thanks to the bug resolution.
External sites metabox visible in WooCommerce orders/subscriptions.
We’ve successfully resolved another bug related to the External Sites module, particularly addressing a scenario involving WooCommerce installations.
When the External Sites module is active in MultilingualPress settings, users can establish relationships between posts and external sites. However, when WooCommerce is installed, MultilingualPress is unable to create a relationship between orders or subscriptions.
But, at the same time, in MultilingualPRess 4.5.0 the metaboxes for establishing relationships were rendered on the order and subscription pages of subsites, even though such associations were not feasible.
We’re pleased to confirm that this bug has been effectively resolved. With the successful fix, MultilingualPress 4.6.0 now does not show such metaboxes in the orders and subscriptions when connected to external sites.
